Pack the "Essentials" and be prepared for minor injuries, sudden weather changes or delays. The following are items you should include.
Personal flotation devices (PFDs) and lifejackets:
Canadian law requires boats to be equipped with a federally approved PFD or lifejacket of an appropriate size for each person on board. (U.S. Coast Guard approved should meet this standard) PFDs must be a jacket not a floating seat cushion or ski belt. It is recommended that lifejackets be worn at all times while in the boat.
