By Car
From Duluth, Minnesota, take Highway 61 east to Thunder Bay. Follow Highway 11/17 east just past the Terry Fox rest stop. Go north on Highway 527 for approximately 135 miles to the Wilderness North Seaplane Base on Waweig Lake.

By Airplane
Fly into Thunder Bay International Airport. Wilderness North has a special arrangement with National car rentals. Follow the directions above to get to the Wilderness North Seaplane Base. Close to Wilderness North's seaplane base is the Armstrong airport with a 4,450-foot paved runway and secondary 2,920-foot paved runway.

By Private Airplane
Fly into Armstrong (CYYW), a town not far from the Wilderness North Seaplane Base that has a 4,450-foot paved runway. From there, courtesy transportation brings guests to the site (please provide advance notice). Private float-plane pilots can call for information on which lakes provide the best safe landing and beaching and docking areas.
