Lunch - Food and Fishing in Northern Ontario
If a fisherman had to choose the next best thing to fishing, it would most definitely be breaking for a tasty shore lunch. Fresh walleye or northern pike sizzling on the grill, the aroma wafting through the crisp wilderness air. Stir in onions, garlic and other seasoning to enhance the flavor and scent. Add sides of beans, roasted potatoes and perhaps a dinner roll to round out the perfect meal.
Smaller fish make for better eating so just because a lunker isn't caught, all is not lost. Use the opportunity for a shore lunch. Fuel up and head back onto the lake, reenergized to land a big one. Depending on the chef, the shore lunch is possibly the most delicious reward in the world for a fisherman. Some would say even better than snagging a trophy.
