Ontario’s Largest Northern Pike...two years in a row. WOW!

It’s official...according to the Ontario Federation of Hunters and Anglers (OFHA) - Wilderness North guests have caught and released the largest northern pike in Ontario two years running. In the fall of 2005, guest Robert Doolittle of Tulsa, Oklahoma caught and released what he calls, "a fish of a lifetime" on Whitewater Lake. It just so happened that his friends had their digital cameras ready. They caught the moment on video. Bob watches the video a lot...wouldn't you? Watch the video of Bob's 50-inch, 30-pound Northern Pike beauty.

It was in the spring that the 2006 record northern pike was caught and released, and this time from Ogoki Lake. Jim Butcher from Shelton Township, Michigan had been fishing just fifteen minutes on May 22, 2006 when he hooked this 53 inch monster. Jim’s buddy was so excited he got a good photo of the fish, but cut Jim’s head off. Anyway, Jim's smile holding the lure he used confirms his good skills and good luck.

Congrats to Bob and Jim...and to you...since you could be our next OFHA Winner.
